ABOUT US
Social Distance Delivery originally served as a free grocery delivery service operated by a team of local members of the community who wanted to help protect other members of the community that faced an elevated health risk of contracting COVID-19. Over the course of one year, our operations helped to make a significant impact throughout the DMV region as well as Charlottesville, VA by allowing the elderly or those with pre-existing conditions to stay at home while we shop for groceries on their behalf.
We are happy to say that demand for our services have recently diminished due to the growing number of vaccinations and the decline in COVID-19 infections. Due to these recent developments, we decided to put a pause on our delivery services as of June 21st, 2021. However, in the year of our operations, we have been fortunate enough to have received a significant amount of donations. Currently we are using donations to help assist families with food insecurity. Our plan is to focus our operations on fundraising and furthering the efforts to continue our positive impact on the local community.
